I read an insightful article in this week's The Stranger. It's called "Hey, Hey! Ho, Ho! The Left's Tired Tactics Have Got to Go!" Basically, the author, Bradley Steinbacher makes the point that protesting the "first war of the 21st century," - as W. put it - demands more than the "patchouli wearers" seem capable of. As he points out: "Despite the tragedy, 9/11 actually presents a golden opportunity for the Left to bring the many evil blunders of U.S. foreign policy to light...Unfortunately, the Left seems to have no idea how to get the info across, other than lame marches/demonstrations filled with the same tired chants, i.e., "What do we want?...," "1, 2, 3, 4...," "Hey, hey! Ho, ho..." I whole heartedly agree. I think it is too easy for those who support the bombings to dismiss the naysayers when all they see are the same "stupid hippies," as he puts it.

As a whole, the Left needs to become more saavy. Not only in terms of the power of money, but also in the importance of media.

Trust me. I could drone on for a while about this, but the article is pretty good. Go read it.

I have to go do some work crap now.
